Staffing pattern set to be revised after 10 years; no separate structure for secondary schools in the new system
Udaipur, June 9, 2025 - The State Education Department has initiated a revision of the staffing pattern in schools. This revision is coming after almost 10 years. The last time the department implemented a staffing pattern in Rajasthan was in 2015, based on student enrolment for the academic session of 2014-15.
According to the department’s guidelines, around 85,000 new posts will be added in schools - 40,000 teaching posts and 45,000 non-teaching staff posts. Since enrolment has increased by the 2024-25 session, the number of posts are bound to increase proportionately.
In the proposed new staffing pattern, allocation of posts for special education lecturers, senior teachers and primary teachers has been defined. However, the new pattern will remove the separate staffing structure for secondary schools, as these are no longer categorised separately.
For general schools, the provision is two teachers for the first 60 students from Grades 1 to 5, and one additional teacher for every 30 students thereafter.
For Mahatma Gandhi English medium and other English medium schools, the proposal provides five Level-1 teachers for each class from Grades 1 to 5.
