The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results for the Civil Services Exam 2023 on April16,2024. with Aditya Srivastava clinching the coveted top rank. Srivastava, a graduate in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, opted for Electrical Engineering as his optional subject, securing his place at the pinnacle of this prestigious examination. Candidates can check their results on UPSC's official website. 

Diverse Achievers in Top Ranks

Animesh Pradhan, a Computer Science graduate from NIT Rourkela, secured the second rank with Sociology as his optional subject. Following closely, Donuru Ananya Reddy, an alumnus of Miranda House, Delhi University, stood third, having pursued B.A. (Hons.) in Geography with Anthropology as her optional subject.

Out of the 1,016 successful candidates, gender parity shines as 10 women and 15 men comprise the top 25 ranks. Additionally, the diverse demographic includes 115 candidates from the economically weaker section, with 303, 165, and 86 belonging to OBC, SC, and ST categories respectively. The remaining 347 candidates hail from the general category.

The educational qualifications of the top 25 candidates reflect a rich tapestry of disciplines, ranging from engineering to humanities, science to commerce, and beyond. These accomplished individuals have graduated from premier institutions such as IITs, IIMs, NITs, University of Delhi, and National Law University.

The top 25 achievers have opted for a diverse range of subjects in the written (main) examination, including anthropology, chemistry, geography, economics, electrical engineering, law, history, mathematics, physics, political science, and international relations, showcasing their versatility and depth of knowledge.

Among the recommended candidates, 30 individuals with benchmark disabilities have earned their place, including those with orthopedic impairments, visual challenges, hearing impairments, and multiple disabilities, underscoring the commitment to inclusivity in the civil services.

These recommended candidates will contribute to various central government services, including the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’), embodying the ethos of public service and governance.
