Resonance student Akshat Mittal has been selected as the representative of India in the 8^th International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) for the final round which will be held from 22^nd to 29^th September’14 at Santander (Spain). Total 28 nations will take part in the final competition.

He is among Top-4 students who have been selected from all over India. Other students include, Lakshya Bhatnagar from Resonance, Kota & other two are from Mumbai & Cuttack.

Lakshya & Akshat secured 2^nd& 3^rdranks respectively and won certificate and cash prize of Rs.5000 each from Geological Society of India.

This prestigious Olympiad is conducted by Geological Society of India in total four stages. The first stage of this Olympiad was conducted on 15^th April 2014 at Udaipur. After stage-I results, total 21 students were selected from India for training camp which concluded on 1^st June’14 at Bangalore & on the basis of student’s performance in the camp Geological Society of India selected 4 representatives from India.

Resonance Udaipur PCCP Coordinator Brijendra Singh Shaktawat informed, “Akshat is a meritorious student & he is also a NTSE scholar. Resonance students always had consistent performance in past IESO Olympiad in which two students, Yash Gupta & Yash Nalwaya won silver medal for India.”
