Alok International & PIE organized a seminar on Overseas Study at Alok International, Ashok Nagar Main Road; giving an overview of the preparation, process and opportunities available for higher studies in countries like U.K., U.S.A., New Zealand, Australia, Hungary, Dubai, Switzerland and Canada. Alok International Organized Seminar on Overseas Study Udaipur Centre Head, Swati Gokhru told that preparation for studying abroad consists of Five Basic Steps: Planning (Financial Planning and Course Selection) Appear for IELTS OR TOEFL (Test to check English language proficiency.) Applying to University (Filing the documents or preparation of Portfolio) Admission & Visa Departure In foreign countries, education system is much different than the Indian system, practical knowledge and work experience is equally important as the academics are. Therefore students should well verse them with fundamentals and basics of their respective subject of study. Most of the students make a common mistake of selecting the field offering better opportunities irrespective of their personal interest and abilities which cause problems sooner or later and then they curse overseas education program. So quality time should be invested in selection of subject or course before starting the process of admission. University selection is a very important and tough task which can not be done easily. Most of the universities provide better infrastructural facility to one particular course or courses therefore doing proper research is again necessary. In other words it is not necessary that if a particular department of  a University is good then all the other departments will also be good. Eligibility and Admission criteria differ from country to country. Social Security is not a big threat as few incidents happening in Australia in past were not result of racism but we doubt due to some personal rivalry among students. Every university has a student council which helps new entrants to get accommodation, part time job, legal advice and visa formalities free of charge. Students can also take up part time jobs where they can work for 20 hours per week and can make 4-6 Lac Rupees per annum which provides a major financial support. Alok International Organized Seminar on Overseas Study Mr. Yatindra Kumawat, Director of Alok International told that there are 1, 50,000 courses available in foreign countries, he threw light on few of them for students completing their 10+2 and Graduation. He further told that the major intake in foreign Universities is done in months of September and February. In September most of the graduation courses are open and in February admissions are mainly for P.G. courses. Alok International Organized Seminar on Overseas Study Students completing their 10+2 can go for Diploma, Advance Diploma, Foundation Year (which helps the students with lower academic score in 10+2 to obtain necessary skills and knowledge required for higher study then only you can proceed to other courses), Bachelors of 3 years (in foreign countries engineering is also of 3 years only), Sandwich Year (after doing 2 years of study you can work for one complete year gaining practical experience and manage finances too and later complete final year) and Top Up Degree (a student can complete his final year of graduation and get a degree from a foreign university after two years study in India) Diploma and Advance Diploma have a very low tuition fee and are suitable for making a career in hospitality. Doing Masters Degree form abroad has the major benefit of specialization in a particular course and duration is also one year  in U.K., in other countries it is about 1.5 year and in U.S.A. it is of 2 years. M.B.A. is very competitive and person must have minimum 2 years working experience. Foreign Universities offer M.A. (Master of Arts), M.Sc (Master of Science) and Masters in Dual Degree which lets people from Engineering background gain technical expertise with an exposure to management. Engineers can do M.S. in Electronics, Automotive, Aerospace, Communication and rapidly growing branch of Petro-Chemical Engineering. If engineers want to do M.B.A. then they must have three years managerial experience but few universities have an exemption for working experience as eligibility criteria. There are courses for people with Arts or Humanities background also in field of Mass Communication, Digital Publishing, Films and Media on U.G. and P.G. level.
