Art and Culture Centre is being developed in Saheliyon ki Bari.

Saheliyon ki Bari is one of the major tourist attractions. This garden was basically meant for recreation of Queen and her friends. SIERT is now making Saheliyon ki Bari even more attractive for all. An Art and Culture Centre is being created where 35 paintings based on the particular theme will be on display supporting the real meaning behind the name of this park.

The art centre is likely to start in a month. Paintings have been made by famous artists of Udaipur. Shail Choyal, Suresh Sharma and Lakshmi Lal Sharma are the great painters who have depicted the style of queen and her friends. Tourists will get to understand the leisure activities of queen through these paintings.

Apart from these paintings, the art gallery will also have terracotta items depicting the great sacrifice made by Panna Dhai. There will also be an extensive display of stories of courage and valour of Maharana Pratap and Bappa Raval. A 10 minute documentary showing the history of Saheliyon ki Bari can also be enjoyed in the small theatre with a capacity of 35 members.

Herbal garden is also being prepared by SIERT. Herbal and medicinal plants namely ashvagandha, aloe vera, tulsi etc. are being developed in collaboration with forest department. An artificial bird park is also being prepared. Evening hours will be for recreation and entertainment with cultural programmes. Rajasthani folk dances like chari and ghoomar and folk lore gavri will be performed.

 To add to all this, some terracotta statues and idols have already been installed. Faithful horse Chetak breathing his last in Maharana Pratap’s lap, Battle of Haldighati, Gangaur processions, ghoomar dance, Meera Bai and Sri Krishna, Shrinath Ji etc have all been made in terracotta.

There will be entry ticket for Art and Culture. Ticket charges are yet to be finalised.
