Opens engineering for Physics, Chemistry and Biology students
Udaipur, March 20, 2025 - BITS Pilani, Rajasthan, announced major curriculum updates on March 19, 2025. New undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs have been introduced to keep up with advancements in science and technology.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ramgopal Rao said that higher education must evolve with the fast-changing world. The institute has introduced an MSc in Semiconductor and Nanoscience, a BE in Environmental and Sustainability Engineering, and a 2+2 International Collaborative Programme.
The MSc in Semiconductor and Nanoscience will combine Physics, Chemistry, and Biotechnology. It will focus on semiconductor technology and nanofabrication, balancing theory with practical training.
The BE in Environmental and Sustainability Engineering will cover renewable energy, pollution control, and climate change mitigation. It will be open to students from both PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) backgrounds. Students will receive training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and environmental data analysis.
BITS Pilani has also made it possible for PCB students to pursue engineering courses related to sustainability. This expansion creates new academic and career opportunities in environmental policy, green energy, and corporate sustainability.
