CAET-2025 for B.Tech Admissions: Application Process and Exam Details

Udaipur, January 6, 2025 - IIT Abu Dhabi has announced the schedule for the Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET-2025) for its 4-year B.Tech programs. The exam will take place on February 16, 2025, and the online application process begins on January 6, 2025. The last date to apply is February 6, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria for CAET-2025

To be eligible for the CAET exam, candidates must have scored at least 75% in their XII exams (or equivalent), with core subjects including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. They should be under 25 years old and must have taken their Class XII exam in 2022, 2023, or 2024. Candidates must not have been admitted to any IIT previously.

Seats and Admission Process

A total of 60 seats are available for the B.Tech programs in Computer Science and Engineering, Energy Science, and Chemical Engineering. Out of these, 20 seats will be filled by candidates who pass the JEE Advanced exam. The remaining 40 seats will be filled through the CAET exam.

Application Process for CAET

Candidates need to create an account on the CAET registration portal, which is available on the official website: budhabi.iitd.ac.in/ undergraduate-programs. The application process for CAET starts on January 6, 2025, and ends on February 6, 2025.

  • Application Starts: January 6, 2025

  • Application Ends: February 6, 2025

  • Admit Cards Issued: February 10, 2025

  • Exam Date: February 16, 2025 (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM)

  • Provisional Answer Keys Released: February 19, 2025

  • Objections Start: February 21, 2025

  • Results Declared: February 26, 2025

International Students Must Provide the Following Documents

  • National Identification Card

  • Grade 12 transcript

  • Valid EmSAT or SAT scorecard

  • Proof of English proficiency (EmSAT English, TOEFL, or IELTS)

Exam Details

The CAET is a pen-paper-based exam. It will have three mandatory papers covering Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates will have 90 minutes for each paper. The exam will be held at various centres across the UAE, and candidates will be assigned to a city based on their preferences.

Eligibility for Foreign Students

International students, including those from countries outside the UAE and India, as well as Indian students with OCI or PIO cards issued on or after March 4, 2021, are eligible to apply.
