‘Career Counselling and Mentoring Session’ at R.N.T

“Career Counselling and Mentoring Session” commenced at R.N.T. Medical College today, as an initiative by Indian Medical Students’ Association (IMSA) which is a pan India self-governed undergraduate association that has been formulated around June 2011 by the students of batch 2006 and 2007 from all over the country.

“Career Counselling and Mentoring Session” commenced at R.N.T. Medical College today, as an initiative by Indian Medical Students’ Association (IMSA) which is a pan India self-governed undergraduate association that has been formulated around June 2011 by the students of batch 2006 and 2007 from all over the country.

It is the most popular and fast growing medical undergraduate association with more than 10,000 members from the nook and corner of the country. It has been devised with a motive of promoting the feeling of ‘Oneness’ amongst all the medical students and to impart knowledge about how to plan future by helping students to reshape their vision and perspectives.

An obvious query is, “What is the need of such a session in a medical college where we have already made a specific career choice?” The need was felt by the students who themselves showed great interest in organizing and attending the session. This is aimed at providing focus and orientation to the interest of the students.

The initiative to resolve student’s dilemma regarding their choice of field after the completion of MBBS degree was taken up by the Indian Medical Students’ Association, Rajasthan State Chapter. For this we organised a three day program with 27 keynote speakers from both the clinical and Para-clinical fields.

Additionally, we have speakers on hospital management, MBA and Entrepreneurship, medical spiritualism, research methodology and designing life through meditation.

‘Career Counselling and Mentoring Session’ at R.N.TToday was the first day of the session that started with the inaugural and keynote speech of Dr.S.K.Kaushik, Principal and Controller, R.N.T. Medical College, Udaipur. This was followed by the introductory speech by Khushboo Verma, State Chairperson, Rajasthan State Chapter, IMSA.

The keynote speakers of the event were Dr.Ankur Atal Gupta, Dept. of Surgery; Dr.Heena Sharma, Dept. of Anatomy; Dr.Meena Atray, Dept. of Pharmacology; Dr.Sunanda Gupta, H.O.D. Anesthesia;

Dr.Sudha Gandhi, Dept. of Gynecology and Dr.Vinay Naithani,H.O.D. Cardiothoracic surgery.

The Event was successfully organized at NLT,RNT campus with the audience comprising of all the undergraduate students and interns who aspire to give pre-PG examination.

Each keynote speaker is given a time slot of 15 minutes which includes a 10 minute PowerPoint presentation followed by 5 minutes of an interactive session with the students.

The following speakers will deliver their speech tomorrow: Dr.Asit Mittal, Dept. of Dermatology; Dr.Shuchi Goyal, Dept. of Biochemistry; Dr.D.C.Sharma, Dept. of Endocrinology; Dr.Sonal Solanki, Hospital Management; Dr.Rahul Jain, Dept. of Forensic Medicine; Dr.Rajul Lodha, Research Prospects in Biochemistry; Dr.Lakhan Poswal, Dept. of Pediatrics and Dr.Rakesh Dashora from Design your Life Through Meditation.

The major attraction of tomorrow is the keynote speech by Dr.Arvinder Singh, Chairman, Pancea Intelligence; IIM from MBA (Gold medalist) on the topic “Entrepreneurship and MBA with emphasis on pathology.”

The IMSA volunteers from the college Khushboo Verma, Ankur Kothari, Suhel Abbas, Varsha Sharma, Shubhra Tiwari, Preeti Kalyana, Brijesh Dhakar, Srishti Detha, Pramod Chandolia, Mahendra Bairwa cordially invite all who are interested in attending the session.

The timing for tomorrow’s session is 1p.m. to 3p.m.
