Over a hundred engineering students were treated to their maiden career counseling session on Saturday, 7th April.
The on-campus session, organised by UdaipurTimes for Techno NJR was conducted by Vineet Baya of ProTalent Udaipur.
Vineet defined three aspects that engineering students need to consider, viz. getting a job, pursuing higher studies in technology or opting for a tangent career in Management. The fourth aspect, which has become a possible choice, is that of taking the entrepreneurial path.
All of the above options, said Vineet, are a reflection of the aptitude and skill set of the student. The challenges that lay ahead are immense inspite of the opportunities being vast.
He reiterated that early focus in the initial years of college, will present a defined path in the penultimate years at campus. As a student nears graduation, the options reduce if preparation is not initiated in the early years.
Developing the correct skill in sync with aptitude will help one perform well in a job interview as well in interview sessions for higher studies, be it a masters in engineering subjects or management.
The session lasted 90 minutes, where students chose to listen intently most of the time and ask questions as and when felt necessary. Vineet ended the session by elaborating on preparation options for management entrance viz CAT, XAT, SNAP, CMAT. He also explained GATE and GRE, which are the options when one needs to do masters in engineering, either domestically or international, respectively.
UdaipurTimes is conducting career counseling seminars across schools and colleges with the intent of establishing a platform that students relate to and are made familiar with.
