CBSE Cancels Class 12 Exams in Middle East; Mode of Results to be Notified

CBSE cancels Class 12 Board exams at Middle East foreign centres owing to the current war situation; Board may consider declaring results without conducting exams

March 16, 2026 - The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the Class 12 Board examinations scheduled at foreign examination centres in the Middle East owing to the deteriorating situation in the region. The decision was taken in view of the ongoing war in the area.

CBSE issued a notification regarding this on March 15 after reviewing the feasibility of conducting Board examinations for Class XII based on inputs obtained and requests received from schools and authorities of the affected countries. According to the notification, the Board has accordingly decided the following:.

All examinations of Class XII scheduled from March 16, 2026, to April 10, 2026 stand cancelled in case of the students from Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Examinations which were earlier postponed vide circular dated March 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 shall also stand cancelled.

The Board may consider a process to declare the results without holding the examinations. The mode of declaration of results for Class XII candidates in these countries will be notified separately in due course, the Board has said.

An official announcement regarding this is expected soon.
