The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the date sheet for Class 10th and 12th board exams 2025 in December. Students will be able to download the official timetable from the CBSE website, cbse.gov.in, as soon as it is published. CBSE has already confirmed that the exams will begin on February 15, 2025.

Changes in Exam Pattern for 2025

CBSE has introduced some changes to the exam pattern for 2025. These changes align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing more on testing students practical application of knowledge rather than memorization.

Focus on Competency-Based Questions

One of the major changes is the increased emphasis on competency-based questions. This shift is aimed at evaluating students critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These questions will make up a larger portion of the exam and will include formats like Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), case-based questions, and source-based integrated questions.

Question Paper Format for Class 10th

For Class 10th, the exam format will remain the same as last year, with 50% of the questions being competency-based. This format will continue from the 2023-24 academic session.

Question Paper Format for Class 12th

For Class 12th, the percentage of competency-based questions will increase from 40% to 50% in 2025. These questions will also come in various forms like MCQs and case-based questions.

Reduction in Constructed Response Questions

Both Class 10th and Class 12th exams will see a slight reduction in the number of constructed response questions, such as short and long answer questions.

Students are advised to regularly check the official CBSE website for updates on the date sheet and to prepare for the new exam format.
