The proceedings of ragging, assault or intimidation in CBSE affiliated schools will now be marked for suspension according to the new circular passed on to all the schools.

The proceedings of ragging, assault or intimidation in CBSE affiliated schools will now be marked for suspension according to the new circular passed on to all the schools.

Board’s academic, research, training and innovation director Dr. Sadhna Parashar issued the circular in which provision is made to restrict ragging in schools that affect the image building.

In the circular, responsibilities of school head, teaching and non teaching staff, students, parents and community have been determined in cases of physical and mental torture, vulgar MMS, photograph or E-Mail, ragging and assault.

The guidelines also state suspension of the accused student, besides fine or transfer to another school. On the basis of Anti-Ragging Committee of CBSE, an anti-bullying committee will be evolved in school in which vice principal, senior teacher, school doctor, counselor, representative of PTA management, legal adviser and senior teacher will collectively take decision against the accused.

The guideline clearly states that in case of ragging or aforementioned proceedings, a verbal warning will be given, followed by written notice, suspension from class for a while, stop or cancel the result, monetary punishments and in cases of big incident, the student will be expelled from the school.
