Starting this academic year, MLSU’s Commerce College has overhauled its B.Com. Honours program under the new education policy. Admissions for the first year of B.Com. Honours have been halted, aligning with a shift to a semester-based system. Under this structure, students completing the three-year B.Com. course with a minimum of 120 credits will qualify for B.Com. Honours.
B.Com Honours Program for 4 Years
The revised curriculum extends the B.Com. Honours program for four years. This includes six semesters spread over three years for the B.Com. course. Subsequently, students will undertake an additional year to complete the Honours program in two semesters. B.Com. Honours offers specialization in three distinct subjects, spanning a total of eight semesters.
B.Com Honours With Research
Moreover, students opting for Honours will have the opportunity to engage in research. Those choosing the research option will earn a specialized degree, B.Com. Honours with Research, distinguishing them from those pursuing the standard B.Com. (Honours) degree.
Upon completing B.Com., students can further specialize in Accountancy and Business Statistics, Banking and Business Economics, or Business Administration, reflecting the flexibility and focus of the new curriculum.
