Major Changes in LLB 3-Year Course Exams

The LLB exams will now be held under semester system instead of the existing annual basis; exam pattern has been revised

February 13, 2025 – Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur, has issued guidelines regarding significant changes to the LLB three-year course exam starting from the 2024-25 session. This directive was issued to 87 law colleges in the State.

The changes have reportedly been made to enhance the quality and regularity of legal education in the State.

Previously conducted on an annual basis, the LLB exams will now be held under a semester system. Additionally, the exam pattern has been revised. Each subject will have a total of 100 marks, with 80 marks for the main exam and 20 marks for internal assessment.

There will be six subjects in the LLB first semester. Out of 100 marks in each subject, 80 marks will be allotted for the main exam and 20 marks for internal assessment. The internal assessment will be divided into two parts.

Two long questions will be given, from which one must be answered, and it will carry six marks.

The mid-term exam will be of 10 marks. In this, students will be given four short questions, from which two must be answered. Each will carry two marks.

Project and viva will have 10 marks. Five marks will be for project presentation and five for viva.
