The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the provisional answer key for the CUET UG 2024 on July 7. Candidates have provided time until 5:00 pm on June 9 to raise objections regarding the key and the conduct of the exam itself.
Possible Retest
If grievances raised by students are found valid, NTA plans to conduct a retest from July 15 to 19, 2024. This follows controversies surrounding the early release of NEET UG 2024 results and demands for a retest.
CBI Investigation Into Paper Leaks
With over 13.4 lakh candidates registered, the delay in CUET UG results contrasts with the early release of NEET UG results, which saw allegations of irregularities like inflated top scores and a wrong question. Subsequently, NTA postponed other exams including UGC NET, CSIR UGC NET, and NCET, prompting a high-level government committee and CBI investigation into alleged paper leaks.
The CUET UG exam, conducted in a hybrid format for the first time, faced cancellations in Delhi and Kanpur due to logistical and paper distribution issues respectively. NTA conducted the exam in pen-and-paper mode for 15 subjects and computer-based mode for 48 subjects to simplify the normalization process.
In related news, the Centre has also postponed NEET PG and announced new exam dates for the postgraduate medical entrance exam conducted by NBEMS.
CUET UG serves as the entrance exam for undergraduate admissions to Central government universities nationwide.
