The sixth edition of Solaris, the annual management fest of IIM Udaipur under the '20-'21 theme "Transcending Ideologies", was inaugurated today, 9 January 2021. The event, like all the events on campus, is organized by the students of IIMU.

The event started with an opening note by IIMU Director, Professor Janat Shah. The opening note by Prof Shah was followed by addresses from the guests of honor Suket Singhal (CEO, Secure Meters) and Ananya Singhal (Chief of People, Secure Meters), and Chief Guest Himmat Singh Barhath (Deputy Commisioner, Municipal Corporation, Udaipur).

The speakers had an engaging and thought-provoking interaction with the student community. Bhargav Dasgupta (MD & CEO, ICICI Lombard General Insurance), talked about the new reality during COVID-19. He discussed a three-way approach from ICICI bank’s perspectives: React, Adapt, and Transform.

Ajay Sevekari spoke about the adoption of techonology in the industry and development of the gig economy. Ameera Shah (Promoter & MD, Metropolis Healthcare Ltd.) provided an insight into the challenges in growing organisations in the past and present day.

Arth- Samvaad, the Finance Symposium of Solaris ’20-21 was hosted by Tushar Pradhan (Chief Investment Officer, HSBC Asset Management), who shared his thoughts on the valuation and the way markets react to external stimuli.

Ajay Lakhotia (Founder, Venture Capitalist and Angel Investor, Stockgro) talked about the role of venture capital and the nuances of building a portfolio. Samvadya- the Consulting Summit, hosted Nitin Chandalia (MD & Partner, BCG), Pallab De (Partner, PwC), and Rahul Gupta (Functional Head, Corporate Development, Tech Mahindra) who discussed about how a lot of new things will happen in the future which will cause a lot of demand for good and fresh talents which makes this time as the best one to graduate from a premier B-School.
