Decades old SIERT will be defunct

Rajasthan State Government, in a historical decision, has decided to discontinue the four decade old Udaipur based State Institute of Educational Research and Training and replace it with State Council of Education Research and Training.

A committee formed under the Director of the SIERT conducted a survey of SCERT at New Delhi and had submitted their report to the State Government.  As per the survey conclusions, work on the development of SCERT at Udaipur will begin very soon.

SIERT began operations on 11 November 1978 and was responsible for education development for classes 1-8.

The SCERT, being and autonomous body, will be headed by a Chairman, who will be appointed from outside the Government and will be a senior educationist.  The SCERT Chairman will oversee the preparation of the syllabus for classes 1-8.
