Over the weekend, on Sunday 6 August, 2023, Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra made a significant move by issuing official orders to fill the position of vice-chancellor in three prominent universities located within Rajasthan. This decision underscores the governor's commitment to the advancement of higher education and administrative leadership within Rajasthan's academic institutions. Mishra consulted with the state government to appoint individuals recommended by the Vice-Chancellor Search Committee of the universities.

Dr. Sunita Mishra, who previously served as the Dean of the Home Sciences Department at Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow, has been selected as the new vice-chancellor for Mohanlal Sukhadia University in Udaipur. Dr. Mishra is set to become the first female Vice Chancellor of Sukhadia University.

Professor Manoj Dixit, who previously served as the Head of the Public Administration Department at Lucknow University, has been selected to assume the prestigious role of Vice-Chancellor at Maharaja Ganga Singh University located in Bikaner.

Professor Keshav Singh Thakur, who has been leading the Commerce and Business Studies Department at Jiwaji University in Gwalior, is set to assume the role of Vice-Chancellor at Govind Guru Tribal University in Banswara.

After nearly a year, Mohanlal Sukhadia University has appointed a permanent Vice Chancellor. The additional charge of Sukhadia University was under the supervision of Prof. IV Trivedi, who also held the position of Vice Chancellor at Govind Guru Tribal University Banswara. Prof. Trivedi successfully managed the additional responsibilities for a year until July 20, 2023, when he retired. Under these circumstances, on July 20, the additional responsibility of Sukhadia University was entrusted to Prof. KL Srivastava, who is the Governor and Vice-Chancellor of Jai Narayan Vyas University, Jodhpur. It is worth noting that starting from July 2022, Prof. Amrika Singh, who was serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Sukhadia University, was suspended based on the directives of the Raj Bhavan. Following this suspension, the additional charge was assumed by Prof. Trivedi.

By appointing vice-chancellors, the state aims to ensure the effective and efficient management of these universities, fostering an environment of educational excellence and growth for both students and faculty members.
