CBSE is quite likely to follow the assessment system for class 12 students if the situation deteriorates, which seems to be quite a possibility.
Exams cannot be delayed further as the entire process including evaluation takes a long time.
The final decision is likely to be taken by the 1st of June.
Covid situation is worsening. The impact on education has taken its toll on students and for months altogether, the students were in a confused state of mind regarding board exams. Class 10 and class 12 board exams were to begin but with the rising corona virus cases with the third wave which is expected to be more fatal, CBSE finally cancelled board exams for class 10.
Board exams for class 12 were being considered but with a good delay. Since the exams would have taken place in offline mode, the students and the parents were beginning to get worried due to the 3rd wave. Now after all the hue and cry and the requests made by students, CBSE is holding meetings regarding the 12th board exams.
Since exams cannot be delayed further as the entire examination process and the evaluation is a long process which affects the results as well, the board is considering adopting the same process that has been adopted for class 10 students. Internal assessment plan is quite likely to be followed but the board has not given its final consent over this.
Final decision on this situation is likely to arrive by 1st June after a meeting between government and members of education department.
