Feb 20, 2026 - Approval to open Rajasthan’s first dedicated, State-run all-girls Sainik Schools has been received and Rajasthan Education Director Sitaram Jat has issued orders for the operation of the schools from April 1. The two schools will be in Bikaner and Sikar - Pooja Savitri Ramnarayan Rathi Balika Sainik School, Jaimalsar, and Maharao Shekhaji Balika Sainik School, Ralawata.

This will be for the first time that the State will have only-girls’ Sainik schools. Separate departmental guidelines will be issued for the smooth functioning of the institutions.

Academic sessions at these schools will commence from April 1. Admissions will be granted through a written examination exam (covering Hindi, English, Maths, Environmental Studies) for admission into Class 6, with applications on the Shala Darpan portal. Selection will be based on merit and to be eligible for admission, the candidate must have passed Class 5.

The entrance examination will be conducted on March 8 in all districts. OMR sheets will be used as answer sheets in the examination. Within two weeks of the declaration of results, the school allotment list for eligible girls will be released.

A total of 160 seats will be available across both schools, with 80 seats allotted to each school.
