Hi-Tech session on Aerospace Defense by ISRO Scientists

Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies (GITS) organized a national level symposium on Aerospace Technologies in Defense today. Senior scientists from ISRO and DRDO explained and delivered the technical details about Aerospace technologies to the researchers, professionals, students of B.E and M.E who participated in this symposium.

Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies (GITS) organized a national level symposium on Aerospace Technologies in Defense today. Senior scientists from ISRO and DRDO explained and delivered the technical details about Aerospace technologies to the researchers, professionals, students of B.E and M.E who participated in this symposium.

Students from Balaji Polytechnique College Udaipur, Rajasthan Technical University Kota, CTAE Udaipur and from various engineering colleges in Jaipur participated in the symposium.

Chief guests on the occasion were Dr S R Balakrishnan, former Additional Director of Gas Turbine Research Establishment DRDO, Dr Lakshmi Raman, Senior Scientist ISRO and Dr. A Raman, Senior Scientist, Sri Harikota Space Centre ISRO. Program started with lighting the lamps by J P Agrawal, President of Geetanjali Education Society, Ankit Agrawal, Director, R K Nahar, VC Geetanjali University and honorable Chief Guests.

Dr. Balakrishnan informed the students about various technicalities of high-tech defense and spy equipment, their uses and the science behind them. Talking about the old aircrafts U-2, ASR 71 (Blackbird), he made students understand the difference between spy aircrafts and spy satellites.

Dr. Lakshmi Raman gave a lecture on the history and technology behind Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) and about India’s super success in this field by giving example of Agni-V. She also presented a thorough comparison of the strengths of Indian and other country’s ICBMs.

In the final Session, Dr. A Raman explained Unmanned Arial Combat Vehicles landing, takeoff and control operations. He gave the example of American Drones and meticulously described the technology behind such aircrafts and a sneak peek into the future of this technology.

On the occasion, a Photo Essay competition was also organized.
