The ragging case of a student of Agricultural College of MPUAT that occurred 4 years back was again highlighted due to lackadaisical attitude of the university officials.

Now, the case is being handled by officers of Human Rights Commission who took statements of 12 officials including 2 students, RCA’s then Dean, administrative officer and chief warden.

The case was of student Anil Kumhar, resident of Hanumangarh who blamed seniors Ameen Khan and Gaurav Bansal for ragging him to an extent that he dropped out of college within 18 days of admission. After his return to college post few days, the situation continued to be the same for him. He was hospitalized due to worse mental status.

His father reported to the dean and VC who did not take the case seriously at that time. At last, they resorted to Human Rights Commission and hope to seek justice, as informed by Anil Kumhar to a local daily.

IG of Commission Saurabh Shrivastava informed that statement of 6 more people is still due. They are asked to summon at Jaipur with documents. The investigation is in its last stage. Soon, the report will be handed over to the chairman who will decide on the case. At first, report was asked from the University but due to uncertainty, the case was handled directly by the commission.

In case of Ragging: Each college has the anti-ragging committee for which complaint can be made either to the chairman or the dean of the college.

RCA’s Dr. O.P Patodia can be contacted on 9414343341 to report any misbehave.

In MLSU, student can contact Prof Dariyav Singh Chundawat on 9414263979 for any ragging related complaint.
