ICSI CSEET Exam Pattern to Change from June 2026
ICSI announces CSEET 2026 results; from June, the exam shifts to offline mode with four papers and 400 total marks; apply online by Jan 31, 2026
Jan 24, 2026 - The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) released the results of the CS Entrance Test (CSEET) held earlier this month on January 20. This was the last CSEET conducted in online mode. The next CSEET, which is scheduled for June 2026, will be conducted offline. The application process will, however, remain entirely online.
Registrations are now open and the last date to apply is January 31, 2026.
ICSI has now moved away from the Home-Based Remote Proctored model to a more rigorous Centre-Based Offline format. The online remote-proctored system, introduced during the COVID period, has now been discontinued. Candidates will have to appear for the exam at a designated exam centre.
From June 2026 onwards, CSEET will no longer be solely MCQ-based. The exam will include both subjective (written) questions and OMR (MCQs). Previously, there were only two papers but now, exams in four separate papers will be conducted. Total marks will now be 400 instead of the previous 200 marks.
Candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each paper and 50% aggregate to pass. Frequency of the exams will be three times a year (February, June and October) unlike the previous four times a year.
Additionally, there will not be a separate Viva Voce as communication skills will now be assessed through the 100-mark subjective paper.
