IESO 2011: Udaipur Students won Silver

Yash Gupta & Yash Nalwaya, two students of Udaipur, have continued the historical performances in International Olympiads.
Both have won Silver Medals in final stage of International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) – 2011. Both of them are students of Class XI & preparing for IIT-JEE from Resonance Udaipur.
Four Students were selected from India to represent the country in the Fifth IESO which was held at Modena, ITALY from 5th-14th Sep. 2011.
Apart from Yash Gupta & Yash Nalwaya, Jashan Singhal, who was a Class X PCCP Student of Resonance Udaipur in Academic Session 2010-11, also represented India & won Silver Medal. The fourth student from India won Bronze Medal.
IESO is one of the twelve International Science Olympiads, an annual competition for secondary school students. The exam was conducted in three stages.
First Stage was a written Test conducted on 23rd January 2011. After this written Test, 21 Students were selected for the Preparatory Camp which was conducted at the University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad from 4th to 25th May 2011. Five students from Resonance, Udaipur were selected for this camp.
After this camp, finally 4 students (which included 3 from Resonance, Udaipur) were selected to represent India in the International Earth Science Olympiad which concluded yesterday in Italy.
The topic of the IESO was Earth Science Renaissance: Science, Environment and Art.. More than 100 Students from 34 countries participated in the event.
India clinch 3 Silver & 1 Bronze Medals in the IESO Held at Modena, ITALY Yash Gupta had earlier won a Gold Medal for India in IJSO – 2010 held in Abuja, Nigeria.
