For the 2023 batch, the written exam results were published on July 19, listing the names of shortlisted candidates. Asodiya Parth Sureshkumar secured the top rank, followed by Shreya Thakur in second place and Mendapara Nikunjkumar Prafulbha in third.
The Indian Forest Service plays a vital role in managing the nation’s forests, wildlife, and environment. The IFS selection process is highly competitive and consists of three stages: the Preliminary Examination, the Main Examination, and the Personality Test (Interview).
The preliminary exam is shared with the Civil Services Examination (CSE) and consists of two objective-type papers. Each paper is worth 200 marks, with the marks from Paper I contributing to the merit list in the prelims. Paper II is qualifying in nature. Candidates who pass the prelims advance to the mains, which is a descriptive exam covering specialized subjects across six papers.
