The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Udaipur is set to introduce an online MBA course, becoming the third IIM institution in the country to offer such a program. This initiative will involve a two-year MBA degree course scheduled to commence from the academic session of 2023-24. Presently, the only IIMs providing online MBA courses in India are IIM Kozhikode and IIM Indore. Notably, IIM Kozhikode delivers its course in collaboration with education technology partners, while IIM Indore independently operates its online MBA degree program.

The introduction of this initiative by IIM Udaipur holds the potential to act as a valuable resource for working professionals. It will enable them to pursue the MBA program while concurrently maintaining their employment commitments. The IIM team of experts has meticulously designed the curriculum to ensure simplicity, accessibility, and practicality.

Comparatively, when considering the traditional residential MBA courses, they are conducted across all 20 IIMs in the country, including Udaipur. Nonetheless, due to the residential nature of these programs, individuals such as working professionals and government officials employed in both private enterprises and public institutions often find it challenging to enroll in such esteemed institutions like IIM. With the introduction of the online format, these individuals will now gain increased opportunities to advance in their careers, as this mode of learning accommodates their existing professional commitments.
