Udaipur, January 6, 2025 - India has introduced two new visas to help international students study in the country. These are called the e-student visa and the e-student-x visa.

1. e-student visa: This visa is for foreign students who have been accepted into recognized universities or colleges in India.
2. e-student-x visa: This visa is for the family members (like parents) of students who hold the e-student visa. This means that if a student holds an e-student visa to study in a foreign country, their family members can apply for this visa to join or stay with the student while they are studying. The e-student-x visa typically allows family members to stay in the country for the duration of the student's studies. However, specific rules about what activities the family members can engage in (like work or study) may vary based on the country's regulations.

To Apply for These Visas, Students Must

• Register on the 'Study in India' website.

• Use their registration ID to apply through the official visa portal.

The visa will be given for up to 5 years based on the length of the course, and students can extend it while in India.

The 'Study in India' initiative helps students from around the world to study at over 600 universities in India, offering courses in fields like Engineering, Management, Law, Arts, Science and more.

How to Apply?

• Students must first register on the 'Study in India' (SII) portal, which is an official platform for foreign students who want to study in India.

• After registration, students can apply for the e-student visa through the official visa portal.

• To apply, students must use their SII ID to authenticate their application.

• The visa process is designed to be easy and quick, reducing the paperwork and making it more convenient for students.

Key Points to Remember

• The e-student visa is for students with admission offers from recognized institutions in India.

• The e-student-x visa is for dependents of the student visa holders.
