Indian Gandhi Environmentalist and Social activist, associated with Chipko Movement Padma Bhushan Chandi Prasad Bhatt visited Udaipur to be a part of the 21-day Refresher Course being organized at JRN Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University.
He addressed the gathering saying, “With the increase of industrialization and over-population, the equilibrium in the nature has been misbalanced. With it, problems pertaining to pollution, floods, droughts, Tsunami, high sea-level, melting of glaciers and other social matters have risen. To combat the problems, we all have to work collaboratively.”
He added further that the government should mark the sensitive areas of the Himalayas and monitor the environmental changes there. Also, a strict action needs to be taken against growing deforestation in such areas.
Towards the end, he emphasized that it is the responsibility of the present and the upcoming generation to restore the beauty of Udaipur and the Aravali.
In the seminar, Registrat Prof C.P Agrawal, PG-Dean Prof Pradeep Punjabi, Dr. Yuvraj Singh Rathore and Prof K.S Gupta also addressed the gathering.
