Jaipur Coaching Hub Given to IIT Jodhpur for Expansion
Additionally, the government will allot 20,000 square meters of land for the development of hostels and other facilities
Aug 9, 2025 – The much-awaited coaching hub located in Pratap Nagar area of Jaipur will now be developed as an extension campus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jodhpur. Additionally, the government will allot 20,000 square meters of land for the development of hostels and other facilities.
A letter to this effect has been sent to the Director of IIT Jodhpur.
The coaching hub, which has been built at a cost of Rs 800 crore, will be handed over to IIT in a phased manner, providing the campus free of cost. It will be handed over in two phases — the first phase will include three towers for the extension campus, and then, in the second phase, the remaining three towers will be transferred.
According to the State Government, the hub is fully ready and therefore, no further expenditure will be required, including the proposed grant of Rs 100 crore.
The Housing Board has directed IIT Jodhpur to take the green signal from the Centre and start the process of operating the campus soon.
The previous Congress government had developed the coaching hub in Pratap Nagar as a flagship project, with the intention of bringing all of the city’s coaching institutes to one location. However, after the change in government, the current fiscal year’s budget included a proposal to expand IIT Jodhpur.
