IIT Kanpur to release response sheets on May 22; JoSAA counselling to start June 3 after JEE Advanced result declaration
Udaipur, May 19, 2025 - The Engineering Entrance Exam JEE Advanced 2025 was held yesterday, on May 18, in the city in two shifts – Paper 1 was from 9:00 am to 12 noon while Paper 2 was from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) had organised JEE Advanced this year. Across India, this year, a total of 1,87,223 candidates had registered for JEE Advanced 2025.
Each session included 48 questions -16 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. This year's exam had only 96 questions asked in total - the lowest number of questions in comparison to 2024 and 2023. In 2024 17 questions per subject were asked.
Usually 102 questions are asked. However, the total marks remained at 360.
Another change in this year’s exam pattern was the increase in the number of integer-type (numerical) questions, especially in Paper 2.
It is expected that IIT Kanpur will release the official question papers soon. Students' recorded response sheets will be released on the JEE (Advanced) 2025 official website on May 22 at 5:00 pm. Online display of provisional answer keys will be released on May 26 at 10:00 am.
Objections to the provisional answer keys can be submitted from 10:00 am on May 26 to 5:00 pm on May 27. The final answer keys and exam results, along with All India Ranks, will be released on June 2 at 10:00 am. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process will begin from June 3.
