CBSE has come up with a new and unique way for keeping a check on cheating. Metal detectors will be used during the JEE-Main exams to be held on 8^th April. This is the first time when metal detectors will be used at examination centre.

Cheating during examinations has become a common practice. Students use mobile phones, Bluetooth equipments and all sorts of modern technologies for cheating purposes. Mobile phones, calculators, electronic watches etc. are actually among the prohibited devices as per norms to be followed at examination centres. If at all any student tries to hide these equipments and thinks of sneaking into the examination hall, the metal detectors will sense the devices and action will be taken against the student for going against rules.

Around 10 lakh students are estimated to appear for JEE-Main examination on 8^th April, 2018. For the advanced round, 2.25 lakh students are expected to appear after this. The examination is just a week away and all students are busy in preparations. This is pre-foundation exam for entrance in IIT. Once the students clear JEE-Main, they will appear for advance round and then get a chance to be in IIT-Engineering. As per sources, around 9 thousand students from Udaipur are appearing for JEE-Main.
