JRNRVU ranks sixth in India in Patent applications
Janardhan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (JRNRVU) has been ranked sixth amongst universities and educational institutions in India in terms of the patent applications that have been filed.
Janardhan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (JRNRVU) has been ranked sixth amongst universities and educational institutions in India in terms of the patent applications that have been filed.
As per the latest annual report (2015-16) released from the Office of Controller General of Patents, Design, Trademark and Geographical Indications, JRNRVU ranks sixth with a total of 22 applications that have been filed for patent.
It may be recalled that in the annual report of 2014-15, JRNRVU, with 53 patents, was ranked second behind the IITs (combined) that had a total of 337 applications filed for patent. Interestingly, JRNRVU then had ranked above the prestigious Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc).
Vice Chancellor, JRNRVU, Prof SS Sarangdevot said that this ranking is a result of aggressive push over the last five years to focus on innovative research. He said that innovation and creativity are of paramout importance for a safe and happy future and PM Narendra Modi’s Start Up India is a positive step in that direction
