Students of Law College continued their hunger strike even on the second day, with the demand of enforcing rule of 2011 for students failing in previous semester. On this issue, Vice Chancellor will meet the dean of the college on Monday.

According to Jagdeep Singh Bhimawat, Student, Law College, “In year 2011, former Dean had implemented a rule, where failed students were allowed to give next exam and could clear both exams consecutively.”

“The present Dean, Anand Paliwal made an amendment in which those failing in more than two subjects will not be promoted to next semester, which is creating problem for 20 students,” added Jagdeep Singh Bhimawat.

According to Anand Pailwal, Dean, Law College, “This rule is not new for any student, as it is followed by Bar Council and all other Universities where one has to repeat the semester, if failing in more than two subjects.”

Meanwhile Prof I.V Trivedi, Vice Chancellor, MLSU, has called for a meeting with Anand Paliwal to discuss over the matter on Monday 31st March, before which no decision will be passed on the issue.
