Shikshantar a place dedicated to everything and anything about environment and nature, is hosting a 2 days workshop on medicines made by Herbal plants.
The workshop is conducted by Jagran Vikas Samiti an NGO situated in Bedla, who works in developing rural areas of rajasthan and even other Indian states.
The workshop which started from 6th of June will get ended on 7th Tuesday.
The Samiti is pledged to create a network connection between herbal/ayurvedic doctors known as “gunie”(folk healer) this network of gunies helps each other to share their experience and knowledge. The Samiti has their own dispensary where gunies can treat patients.
The workshop in shikshantar is called “Guniremedic”, said Dr. Jhala. He said, “we want to share guni-gyan with our attendees, who are mostly children. These kids are very eager to know how these leaves and plant root can cure any sickness. We also try to combine our work with nature and education”.
The founder of Shikshantar, Manish Jain said “The program aims to reinforce the concept of traditional healing using plants/herbs in your vicinity to improve general health levels in common households. Also the program aims to contribute to environment by aiding conservation of these plants.”
Workshop is running by Dr. Jhala, Mangalram Godra and Vaid Ramkishore Deswal.
Plants and herbs like vasa (justicia adhatoda), shatavari (asparagus racemosus), ratanjhot (jatropha curcas), alo vera (aloe barbadensis), ashva gandha (withania somnifera) and dozens more herbs are been used to teach the attendees.
