Speaking at the concluding session of the Seminar on Contemporary Innovative Practices in Management at Pacific University, the President of the Pacific University, Professor Bhagwan Das Rai said that continuing refinement and on-going changes in management practices are a mandatory requirement in today changing global business environment.

Speaking at the concluding session of the Seminar on Contemporary Innovative Practices in Management at Pacific University, the President of the Pacific University, Professor Bhagwan Das Rai said that continuing refinement and on-going changes in management practices are a mandatory requirement in today changing global business environment.

He further said that in today’s competitive business environment, it is important to have a strategic view in developing and designing business systems and practices.  International trade policies, capital investment practices and policies, protection of intellectual property, require constant upgrade and new ideas.

Professor Harshita Shrimali, the coordinator of the event said that that seminar was split into 14 technical sessions.  In all, 840 research papers were submitted towards the event, of which 463 papers were selected.

In the Human Resource stream, 128 research papers were selected.  Deepa R. of the PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore secured the first position.  The first prize in the second session was given to Manju Nath of the SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, Mysore.  Baba Saheb Ambedkar University’s Professor Krishna Priya bagged the first prize in the third session, whereas the first prize in the fourth and final session went to S.P Rath of the Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad.

The first prize in the first session of the Marketing stream, where 155 papers were selected, went to Professor Tejas Pujara of the Taloni Institute of Management Studies.  Hemendra Mehta of the Faculty of Management Studies, PIJNIBM, Vikram University took the first prize in the second session.

75 research papers were selected in the Finance stream, where Professor Kalpana Badlani, University of Kota; Professor Swati Modi, GLS Institute of Business Administration, Ahmedabad and Professor Yamini Karunkar, International Institute of Professional Studies took the first prize in the first, second and third sessions respectively.

In the IT stream, 105 papers were selected.  The first prizes in the two sessions in this stream were bagged by Murli Krishna from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University, Hyderabad and Manish Sharma and Amandeep Singh from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences N.I. Hamirpur respectively.

The overall best paper award of Rs. 5,000/- was given to Professor Ira Bapna of the Devi Ahilya University, Indore.

Earlier, Professor PK Sharma of Vardhaman University, Kota presided over the Marketing stream sessions, in which Dr. Abhijit Pandit was the key note speaker.  The HR sessions was presided over by the Director of MDI Gurgaon, Professor CP Shrimali, whereas the key note addresses were delivered by Dr. Manju Nath, Dr. Hardeep Singh and Professor D. Lattha Chakravarti.

The Finance sessions were chaired by Professor G. Soral, Head of Department, ABST, University College of Commerce and Management Studies, MLSU and the key note speaker was G. Srinivasan from NITIE, Mumbai.

Organising Secretary of the seminar Dr. Mahima Birla presented the thanks giving address at the end of the seminar.

The Pro-President of Pacific University, Professor Bhagwati Prakash Sharma said that the Pacific University will be organizing a series of such seminars and workshops that will incorporate a forum for discussions on the indian perspective to management in the changing global economic scenario, where maximum development through harmonious relations and managerial practices can be achieved.
