MBBS Fee in Govt Colleges Hiked
Annual MBBS fee raised to Rs 1.25 lakh in six major government medical colleges of Rajasthan
Udaipur, Aug 20, 2025 - Pursuing an MBBS degree at government medical colleges has become costlier. From the 2025-26 academic session, students enrolling in MBBS programmes at RNT Medical College Udaipur, SMS Jaipur, JLN Ajmer, SP Bikaner, SN Jodhpur and Kota Medical College will now have to pay Rs 1.25 lakh as annual fees, up from the previous Rs 1.19 lakh.
Rajasthan currently has 42 medical colleges — 30 are government-run (including those under RajMES) and 12 are private institutions. However, the six older government colleges mentioned above remain highly competitive, each offering 250 MBBS seats.
Hostel fees have also increased:
- Single-occupancy room: From Rs 32,300 to Rs 35,500 per year
- Double-occupancy room: From Rs 25,900 to Rs 28,500 per year
