A group of medical students has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court. They are challenging the court's decision from August 2, 2024, which dismissed their request to cancel the NEET UG 2024 exam. The students had earlier asked for a re-test, citing system malpractices during the exam.
In their new petition, the students argue that there have been important developments since the Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, ruled against a re-test. They claim to have found new evidence that shows widespread malpractice across various states.
The petition mentions a detailed analysis of exam centers. It points out that out of 4,738 centers, 60 had a success rate of around 80%, with four of them having an unusually high success rate of over 85%. Most of these centers are in one city "Sikar" while other centers across the country had an average success rate below 50%.
The students also allege that 16 mobile phones, reported lost after the exam paper leak, were found in a pond in Dhanbad. They have raised concerns about issues like grace marks, OMR sheets, and predictions of the paper leak, claiming negligence in handling these matters.
