A Divisional Level meeting on the project of ‘Merging Schools’ was organized today in context of the same State Level meeting organized in Jaipur yesterday. DEOs (District Education Officers), Principals of Govt. Schools and Head Masters attended the meeting.

The primary motive of the meeting was to discuss the proposal stated in the meeting held in Jaipur yesterday. The proposal to re-do the standard schooling terminology and categorization as 1^st to 10^th standard schools will be known as Secondary Schools and 1^st to 12^th standard schools will be called Senior secondary. The proposal states to depreciate the current terminology and categorization which also includes 1^st to 5^th standard as Primary and 1^st to 8^th as Upper Primary.

Now, in this proposed scheme, the currently running Upper Primary and Primary schools will be merged to form one Secondary or Senior Secondary school, as the situation fits according to the norm of ‘falling in 1km range’.

The teachers in such school can be shuffled as well, as and where required. Also, separate mid-day meals being served currently will also be merged.
