Students of Meera Girls College stopped Collector’s car and demanded that a statue of Meera Bai be put up in the college. The students said that the college is named after Meera Bai but there is no statue of her anywhere in the college.

Collector Mallick had gone to inaugurate Electoral Literacy Club in Meera Girls College on Friday when his car was stopped by a student named Divyanshi. She was leading the team that demanded the placement of Meera Bai’s statue in college. The students also performed the ritual of honouring the Collector on the occasion of Guru Purnima.
