MLSU amongst 6 Universities identified for International Coursework

Mohan Lal Sukhadia University has been identified as one of the 6 Universities in the country to run International coursework on specialized area. The identification has been done under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), a Centrally Sponsored Scheme.

Mohan Lal Sukhadia University has been identified as one of the 6 Universities in the country to run International coursework on specialized area. The identification has been done under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), a Centrally Sponsored Scheme.

Idea of this programme is to provide students an opportunity to specialise in 6 streams. MLSU will provide specialization in Biotechnology. Other universities that have been identified include Anna University (Computer Science), Ravishankar University, Chhatisgarh (Zoology), Jharkhand University (Life Sciences) and Orissa University (Physics).

Pennsylvania State University, USA will monitor the administration of the programme in all the Universities.

The identified universities will be able to have their students and faculty members sent across on exchange programmes. The Universities are also likely to get international recognition for these programmes. Pennsylvania State University will provide support to the Universities in faculty development.

Prof J.P.Sharma, Vice Chancellor, MLSU said that selection for the special scheme is a matter of pride and honour for MLSU. Having an international coursework will provide a boost to specialisation area. Further, he said that infrastructure and faculty facilities will also get a boost in the process.

Smart rooms with high internet connectivity will be opened. Biotechnology lab will be established. New e-journals and e-books will be subscribed. Additionally, students in the specialised course will also get additional benefits

The scheme will be launched digitally by Union HRD minister Prakash Javdekar on 14-April.
