MLSU Launches Practical Workbooks for B.Com Under NEP 2020
Mohanlal Sukhadia University launches practical workbooks for B.Com under NEP 2020; becomes the first university in India to implement computer-based practical exams in Commerce
Udaipur, Feb 27, 2026 - The Faculty of Commerce at Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) has introduced practical courses in the B.Com programme under the framework of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The Practical Workbooks for these newly introduced courses were officially released on Thursday (February 26) at the Seminar Hall of the College of Commerce and Management Studies. Present on the occasion were Vice Chancellor Prof. BP Saraswat and NEP Nodal Officer Prof. KB Joshi.
Faculty Chairman and Dean Prof. Shurveer Singh Bhanawat said that under NEP 2020, Rajasthan has taken a historic step in higher education. MLSU has become the first university in Rajasthan — and across India — to implement computer-based practical examinations in Commerce. This initiative aims to modernise Commerce education and make it more skill-oriented and practical.
While implementing the new system, several challenges emerged and these issues were addressed by special faculty training programmes. A review meeting was later conducted with faculty members from affiliated government and private colleges. The meeting concluded that authentic and well-structured study material was urgently required.
To fulfill this need, practical workbooks were developed and launched for Practical Financial Accounting Lab, Practical Business Statistics Lab and Practical GST.
PDF versions of these workbooks are now available on the official website of MLSU for students and teachers. Additional subject workbooks will be introduced soon.
