Memorandum for the Reinstatement of the Offline Student Help Desk at Mohanlal Sukhadia University
Udaipur, May 30, 2026 | MLSU News: The Student Helpline Desk at Mohanlal Sukhadia University has reportedly not been functioning for the last several months, leaving thousands of students struggling for support.
Approximately 175,000 predominantly tribal students who lack internet access and digital literacy are being affected. As a result, students have to rely on e-Mitra centers, leading to extra costs.
Keeping the students' welfare in mind, Gajendra Singh Bhati, a former student union member of MLSU, under the guidance of prominent figures from the Consumer Protection Organization, submitted a formal request to MLSU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kailash Daga, advocating for the reinstatement of the helpline as an essential support mechanism.
According to experts and students alike, an offline help desk is not merely a convenience; it constitutes an essential and critical support mechanism for both students and their parents.
Student Help Desk is also a Regulatory Compliance
Emphasizing the significance of inclusive education, the National Education Policy 2020 mandates accessible services in Higher Education Institutions, including offline support for grievances as per recent regulations. Additionally, the Student Grievance Redressal Regulations of 2023 made it mandatory to provide a mechanism for filing offline complaints under the Students Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC). Additionally, Section 14 of the NEP 2020 specifically identifies the establishment of on-campus support centers as a necessity for students belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged sections of society. The Vice-Chancellor has assured that the Student Help Desk will be restored promptly, prioritizing student welfare.
