NISHTHA - NCERT launches learning centered pedagogy courses through DIKSHA platform under NEP 2020

The CBSE has instructed all school Principals to ensure that all teachers at the Secondary level complete the course.

 
NISHTHA NCERT CBSE DIKSHA TEACHERS LEARNING PORTAL NEP 2020

The Central Board of Secondary Education has circulated information on the NISHTHA courses launched under the New Education Policy 2020 of the Government of India.

CBSE has invited teachers from across CBSE Schools in the country to participate in the courses conducted by NCERT under NISHTHA on the DIKSHA portal.

How to Register with DIKSHA

PLEASE CLICK THIS LINK to access the CBSE Circular with all login details. The Courses are available both in English and Hindi and Teachers can access the courses for secondary level (Classes 9 till 12).

What is NISHTHA?

One of the focus areas of NEP 20202 is the need to provide continuous opportunities to teachers for self-improvement and to learn the latest innovations and advances in their profession. With the genesis of the NEP 2020 in perspective, the National Initiatives for School Heads and Teachers Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) program was launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in 2020.

Objectives of NISHTHA courses

Some of the courses recently rolled out under NISHTHA are centered on learning outcomes and learner centered pedagogy, with the following intended objectives:

  • Teachers are trained to
    • Use Art as pedagogy leading to increased creativity and innovation among students
    • Develop and strengthen personal-social qualities of students for their holistic development.
  • Creation of a healthy and safe school environment.
  • Integration of ICT in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Developing stress free School Based Assessment focused on development of learning competencies.
  • Teachers adopt Activity Based Learning and move away from rote learning to competency based learning.
  • Teachers and School heads be sensitized on new initiatives in school education.
  • Transformation of the Heads of Schools into providing academic and administrative leadership for the schools for fostering new initiatives.
  • Improvement in learning outcomes of the students.
  • Creation of an enabling and enriching inclusive classroom environment.
  • Teachers become alert and responsive to the social, emotional and psychological needs of students as first level counselors.

Once the course has been completed the certificate will be generated in 7-10 working days IF the course has been completed and a minimum score of 70% has been attained in the course assessment.
