NEET results were announced by the National Testing Agency today evening. The NEET examination is a National Eligibility Entrance Test to seek admission in the prestigious medical colleges of India. The results of both phases held on 13 September and 12 October respectively have been declared.
The NEET was held on 13 September and caters to admission of candidates across 549 medical colleges hosting nearly 75000 MBBS seats and 313 colleges hosting nearly 26000 BDS seats across the country.
Soyeb Aftab of Odisha and Akanksha Singh of Delhi have topped the NEET this year with 720 marks. NTA has results the scorecards as well as the cutoff marks for the students. This year, cut-off marks for students in the EWS and unreserved category has surged to 720-147; SC/ST/OBS cut-off is 146-113 and for PWD candidates of unreserved and EWS is 146-129.
NEET Counselling
NEET counselling, for admission to national institutes and all-India quota (AIQ) seats in state colleges, will be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services. For state quota seats, the respective state government-authorized agencies will draw up merit lists and conduct counselling.
