In two shifts of exam nearly 2 Lakh candidates appeared...
The NEET PG 2024 exam was successfully held on Sunday, August 11, 2024. The exam was conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in two shifts. A total of 2,16,136 candidates took the exam at 416 centers across 170 cities in 31 states.
Normalisation Procedure
NBEMS also explained the normalisation process for preparing the results. The scores for each shift will be calculated as raw scores and percentages. Percentiles (up to seven decimal places) will be calculated for the total score. If there is a tie, older candidates will be ranked higher, as mentioned in the exam prospectus.
In the first shift, 1,07,959 students appeared for the exam out of 1,14,276 registered candidates. However, 6,317 students did not attend the exam. There were some delays in a few centers, with two centers facing a delay of up to one hour and 45 minutes due to technical issues.
In the second shift, 1,08,177 candidates appeared, and 6,087 students were absent out of 1,14,264 registered candidates. One center experienced a delay of 55 minutes, and four other centers were delayed by less than 30 minutes.
To ensure the exam ran smoothly, more than 1,950 independent appraisers and 300 flying squad members were stationed at the exam centers. Additionally, eight regional command centers were set up to supervise the process. NBEMS also monitored social media to ensure accurate information was shared.
The exam's security measures and the cooperation between various agencies helped maintain the integrity of this important exam.
