NEET UG 2026 on May 3: Applications Open Until March 8

More than 2.4 million students across the country will be appearing for this exam, which will determine admissions to 1,29,603 MBBS seats available in 824 medical institutions nationwide

Udaipur, Feb 9, 2026 - The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an official notification on its website that the NEET UG 2026 medical entrance examination will be conducted on May 3, 2026. The online application process began on February 8 and will continue until March 8.

More than 2.4 million students across the country will be appearing for this exam, which will determine admissions to 1,29,603 MBBS seats available in 824 medical institutions nationwide. Compared to 2025, the number of MBBS seats has increased by approximately 15,000 this year.

The exam duration will be three hours, with a total of 180 questions.

  • Physics: 45 questions
  • Chemistry: 45 questions
  • Biology: 90 questions (45 Botany + 45 Zoology)

This year, candidates must upload a live photograph while filling the form. Additionally, they must upload:

  • Passport-size photo
  • Thumb and finger impressions of both hands
  • Class 10 marksheet and certificate
  • Signature
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Valid ID proof
  • Proof of local and permanent address

According to the NEET UG information bulletin, there are no changes in the application fee, exam pattern, marking scheme, qualifying criteria, or tie-breaking rules.
