The National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) 2024 June session. The new dates are from August 21 to September 4, 2024. This follows the cancellation of the June 18 exam due to reports of paper leak.
Key Details
- The initial exam was conducted offline, but the rescheduled tests will revert to the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format.
- Over 9 lakh candidates appeared for the original exam across 317 cities.
- The exam paper was allegedly leaked on June 16 and sold on the darknet for over Rs 5 lakh.
Other NTA Exam Dates
- National Common Entrance Test (NCET) on July 10, 2024.
- Joint CSIR UGC NET from July 25 to 27, 2024.
- All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) on July 6, 2024.
The UGC NET is held twice a year to determine eligibility for assistant professors, award Junior Research Fellowships, and facilitate PhD enrollments in Indian universities. A new panel has been formed to ensure fair conduct of exams by the NTA.
