Udaipur, December 3,2024 - The state textbooks will soon have new chapters about important historical figures like tribal leaders Birsa Munda and Punja Bhil, along with more information about Maharana Pratap.
These changes are being made by the education department to follow the guidelines of the New Education Policy (NEP). The updated books will be used in schools next year.
A committee has been working on these changes and is expected to finish its report by the end of December. They are making sure that figures like Birsa Munda and Punja Bhil get proper recognition for their roles in history.
This update also comes after the Prime Minister launched a special coin and stamp to honor Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary on November 14. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan also participated in an event in Banswara for the occasion.
Apart from these historical updates, the new curriculum will also teach students about the harmful effects of using plastic bags. This will help raise awareness about the environment and encourage students to take part in activities that reduce plastic use.
Additionally, the textbooks will link tree planting activities to school lessons. Experts from universities will help create a plan that involves tree planting in different regions of the state.
