NEET UG 2026: NTA Issues Important Application Advisory
NTA tells applicants to ensure Aadhaar, UDID and category certificates are updated to avoid errors in the online application process
Udaipur, Jan 7, 2026 - The online application process for NEET UG 2026 medical entrance exam is expected to begin by the second week of February. Ahead of the registration, the National Testing Agency (NTA) issued an important advisory for students on Tuesday (January 6) emphasising timely updating of Aadhaar cards, Unique Disability Identity (UDID) cards and certificates for various categories.
The advisory is aimed at helping applicants avoid errors or delays at the time of application or during admissions.
As per the advisory, it is mandatory for NEET UG aspirants to ensure that their Aadhaar card contains updated details, including name, date of birth, gender, photo address and biometric details wherever applicable. For differently-abled students, a valid and updated UDID card is compulsory. Any mismatch of details could cause discrepancies or even rejection of the application.
Candidates belonging to OBC-NCL, EWS, SC and ST categories are also instructed to verify the validity of their category certificates to avoid any issues during the application process.
Although NTA has not announced the exact start date for NEET UG-2026 online applications, in 2025 the process began on February 7.
