The Prakhar Abhiyan for primary education started on Monday. This new program aims to improve reading skills among students from 1 to 8 grade. Under this initiative, a dedicated reading session will be held daily until October 2. During these sessions, books will be read aloud to the children. The government and education department found that many students in government schools struggle with reading.
According to the new education policy, there is a special plan for reading books in Class 1st to 8th. This plan has been put into action in government schools across the state. The campaign will identify children who cannot read and provide additional support. Students who can read will be encouraged to read books in English and other subjects.
Avichal Chaturvedi, Director & Commissioner of the Department of School Education, stated that this initiative also considers the needs of students in grades 9 to 12. The goal is to address reading difficulties before students advance to higher grades.
Under this campaign, approximately 80 lakh children from 65,000 schools across the state will be encouraged to read books. Education Minister Madan Dilawar stated that the quality of education in government schools has not only improved compared to private schools but is also imparting good values and knowledge to the children. Various programs will be organized under the campaign until October 2, including the celebration of Hindi Day. Events such as recitations of poetry and stories in the local language.
